Saturday January 1, 2011Julius Caesar Auditions (January 5th & 6th)
A final reminder for those interested that the auditions for Julius Caesar will be held at The Hotel Celebrity, Gervis Rd, Bournemouth on Wednesday January 5th and Thursday January 6th from 7:15 pm (only need to attend one or the other).
Julius Caesar has a very large cast. Director, Don Cherrett, requires a minimum of 27 men and 12 women. Actors who do not play a lead role would have the chance of ‘doubling up’, playing two (or more roles) in a production which Don intends to be “something different with a dramatic, thought-provoking, energetic, bloodthirsty, gut-wrenching, no holds barred, raw, but realistic experience of Roman Times for both cast and audience with some original sound and visual effects to accompany all of this.”
The auditions are totally open for anyone to attend – and every year we recruit a number of new people from our existing audience base. So if anyone reading this is at all interesting in getting involved with the company onstage, backstage or front-of-house then please contact us. Previous experience is not necessary.
Speaking roles will range from half a dozen to over 700 lines and there are non-speaking roles too for those who would like to play such roles. There will also be some extra theatrical fight training for those cast in parts which involve handling of swords, daggers etc. On top of this there will be a one-day workshop, FREE to all members of the 2011 Company, led by a professional actor who will help with an overview of the general understanding and handling of the language of Shakespeare.
Audition pieces and further details are online at our website www.brownsea-theatre.co.uk and any enquiries can be directed to then BOAT 2011 Production Manager on 0775 590 7857 or via email to production@brownsea-theatre.co.uk
If you are interested in being in the cast or helping out but are not able to attend either audition date please contact the producton manager and separate arrangements can be made.
