Canford History Tour
Step back in time and discover the rich history of Canford on this fascinating guided tour, led by former History Master, Keith Hay. With a limited number of tickets available, this is a rare opportunity to explore the stunning buildings and grounds while uncovering the stories behind this remarkable estate.
From Sir Charles Barry’s grand architectural vision to the extraordinary treasures once housed at Canford, every corner of the estate has a story to tell.
Although Canford School was founded in 1923, its buildings sit on land with a history that stretches back well before the Norman Conquest. The earliest recorded mention of Canford Manor appears in the Domesday Book of the 1080s. Today, the oldest surviving structure—known as John O’Gaunt’s—dates from around 1400, offering a rare glimpse into the estate’s medieval past.
