Auditions for The Tempest
Join us for our second season of open air theatre in the beautiful grounds of Canford School, Wimborne.
Step into a world where power, magic, and illusion collide in a spectacular tale of revenge, forgiveness, and transformation. Shipwrecked on a remote island, the exiled Prospero is faced with a choice - exact revenge for past wrongs, or show mercy and forgiveness and return to a "brave new world".
Blending live performance, music, and striking visual effects, this production will bring to life a world where power is tested and forgiveness becomes its own kind of magic. Thoughtful, imaginative, and provocative, The Tempest is Shakespeare’s final play — and one of his most moving.
We are looking for a diverse cast of 15-20 amateur actors to bring this production to the stage. We are especially interested in seeing performers with dance / physical theatre training or experience. Rehearsals will be in the evenings starting at the end of April 2026, with performances in early August 2026.
Whether you’re an experienced performer or just beginning your theatrical journey, we welcome your talent.

Book Your Audition
To audition for a role in The Tempest you should fill in a Cast Sign-up form and book an audition slot in advance. Audition slots are 10 minutes long and are between 6pm and 10pm. You can specify your preferred audition date and time on the form and you will then be allocated a slot. Please note - there are only a limited number of the pre-booked audition slots available

Anyone turning up without pre-booking will be seen if a slot becomes available. There may be some late availability at the end of the night.
