The Tempest relaxed matinee 8th August 2026 2pm

RELAXED MATINEE

On Saturday 8th August 2pm we will be performing The Tempest as a relaxed performance. This is intended to accommodate those who would otherwise be unable or unwilling to attend a theatre performance.

We will make the following changes:

  • We will allow for noise and movement in the auditorium. Audience members will be free to come and go as necessary, and will be able to change their seats (subject to availability) during the performance.
  • There will be extra wheelchair spaces provided.
  • We will remove all loud noises and flashing lights from the performance. Sound effects overall will be reduced in volume.
  • We will remove or modify any violent or distressing moments in the play.
  • The cast will introduce themselves before the play and will explain what is about to happen.
  • A quiet space will be provided for anyone wishing to take time away from the performance.

People who attend this performance in their capacity as a carer or assistant to a person with a disability can book a free "personal assistant" ticket. They must be registered on the BH Live Access Scheme - for more information or to register, email [email protected].
